Independent Ethics Review Panel
Description
The City of Scottsdale uses an Independent Ethics Review Panel to review ethics complaints lodged against the mayor and/or members of the city council (and possibly complaints against other appointed officials that would pose a potential conflict of interest for the City Attorney.) The membership of the Ethics Review Panel is primarily retired judges the City contracts with to perform this service. The membership of each selected Ethics Review Panel is designated by the City’s Independent Ethics Review Officer.
