Budget Review Commission

Description

The Budget Review Commission consists of seven (7) members, that shall have financial, accounting, business, or government management experience.  The Commission shall act as an advisory body to the City Council by reviewing and making recommendations on the proposed budget.

Each fiscal year, with the assistance of the City Treasurer's Office and prior to the tentative budget adoption and in accordance with the budget adoption schedule, the Commission shall provide written recommendations to the City Council regarding the following matters, listed in order of priority, as time and circumstances permit: (1) Operating Budget (Department and program/services funding); (2) Capital Budget; (3) Major revenue forecast, taxes and fees; (4) Budget governing policies.
